Each stereo loop can be broken up into 2x mono loops with an Y-cable and in the looper used as 2x complete independent mono loops (Y-TRS-Cables). As these cannot be displayed in this tool (but often used to double the loops on big boards) we configured in this tool 3 stereo connections as 6x mono loops.

But that is definitely not all – what makes CIOKS 4 Expander truly unique is the fact that you can power it with anything from 9V to 24V DC or 9V to 12V AC via the non-polarized DC socket input. Furthermore CIOKS 4 can even be powered by connecting it to a USB powerbank via its 5V USB C input or by using a tablet or laptop power supply with a USB C plug. The One Control Blue 360 AIAB reproduces the sound of the legendary 360 preamp and can instantly give your modern, high tech amp the response of 70’s-era high-powered transistor amp. The Blue 360 pedal delivers a bass tone that fits in perfects with high-density, powerful band sounds - especially those with high volume, distorted guitar - making it a great option for classic rock, punk, etc. The switch on the side works as a pre-set master volume. All boost is set by the Volume control. At the -18 dB setting, cranking Volume to full will deliver a similar level to bypass mode, allowing you to set the pedal to create distortion tones when on, while keeping your signal at the same volume whether the pedal is on or off. At the 0dB setting, the output level will increase as you turn up the Volume.

The One Control Sonic Silver Peg reproduces the sound of the iconic 100W 'V4' tube amplifier released by Ampeg in the 1970s. This highly responsive bass preamp is adaptable to any style of play and a perfect tool for any bass player. With a dynamic tone range similar to the original amp, the switch on the side of the enclosure allows for a cut of -15 dB. In addition, the Sonic Silver Peg has an active Mid knob that realizes a boost / cut of +/- 15 dB centered around 800 Hz. The Tone knob controls the low pass filter which can sweep from 300 Hz to 10 kHz. And, with the 0 dB / -15 dB switch, it is also possible to switch the sound of the two original inputs. Mini Vintage Chorus

The micro-Thumpinator is a bandwidth optimizer designed for bass guitar. It removes the low frequency signals that are outside the range of notes produced by the instrument.

Infrasonic frequencies cannot be reproduced by standard bass cabinets but they often make amplifiers clip, especially when they are set to boost the lower frequencies. The Thumpinator filters the signal content optimising the energy delivered by the amplifier. Low-frequency clip is substantially reduced and the sound is tighter especially at high volume levels.

The micro-Thumpinator accepts instrument and line level signals. It can be used between preamplifier and amplifier, between bass and amplifier or anywhere in the effect chain (line or instrument level). It can also be connected directly to an audio interface.

Controls on the Pico POG include dedicated volumes knobs for the SUB OCTAVE, OCTAVE UP, and DRY voices. These three controls act as a mixer for infinite possible voice mixes. The TONE knob features three modes controlled by the FILTER button. In Tone Mode, the knob acts as a tilt-EQ with a flat frequency response in the center, more treble and less bass as you turn the knob clockwise, and less treble and more bass as you turn the knob counterclockwise. In this mode, the EQ is applied to all 3 voices. In Low Pass Filter mode, the knob cuts highs in the Sub and Octave Up voices, while High Pass Filter mode cuts lows in the Sub and Octave Up Voices.

Die New Yorker Company Aguilar ist seit 1995 nicht mehr aus der Szene wegzudenken. Damals war in der New Yorker Bassistenszene plötzlich ein Gerät einer noch unbekannten Marke in aller Munde: der Aguilar DB 680, ein Highend-Röhren-Preamp, welcher qualitativ höchsten Ansprüchen gerecht wurde und auf den Erfahrungen des professionellen Session-Bassisten Dave Boonshoft und des Amp-Spezialisten Alex Aguilar basierte. Beflügelt vom Erfolg des DB 680 und den positiven Rückmeldungen der Szene entstand zur damaligen Zeit die Firma Aguilar Amplification, die bis heute für edlen amerikanischen Basssound steht. Seit 1995 hat sich freilich sehr viel getan – vor allem wurde das Portfolio deutlich erweitert. Heutzutage baut Aguilar Amps, Boxen, Pickups, Elektroniken und Effektpedale. Und ein neuer Spross eben dieser Pedale liegt mir heute zum Test vor: der Grape Phaser!

The 4-stage analog Grape Phaser is a fairly simple pedal with just two dials: rate and color. It’s a solid, high-quality stompbox with a sturdy bypass switch and nice rubber control knobs. The pedal’s rate knob can take the speed of the modulation from a long and luxurious slow sweep all the way up to super-fast alien helicopter sounds. The color control feeds a portion of the signal back through the phase-shifting circuit. The Grape runs on 9V DC from your favorite universal power supply, but accepts a battery, too. The battery is accessed through a clever metal drawer that’s conveniently released with one Phillips screw. The pedal also features what Aguilar calls “gig-saver” bypass, which means if/when power to the pedal is lost, the signal is still passed through the bypassed pedal. I think that feature could really live up to its name! And, of course, the pedal is grape colored.
