RockBoard RPA 100 Power Attenuator
Flexible Control for Real Tube Amps A great tube amp has a point where it starts to feel alive. The notes bloom, the response changes, and the whole rig pushes back in a way that only happens when the amp is doing some real work. The problem is volume. By the time many amps reach that sweet spot, they can be too loud for home, rehearsal, recording, or even controlled stage use. The RockBoard RPA 100 Power Attenuator is built for that exact problem. It sits between your amp and speaker cabinet, letting you push the amp while adapting the speaker level to the room. It works with tube amps up to 100 watts and supports 4, 8, and 16 ohm setups for proper impedance matching across common amp and cab combinations.
From Full Output to Silent Operation The RPA 100 provides continuously adjustable attenuation from 100% down to 0%, so you can move from full speaker output to silent operation without changing the basic amp-and-cab workflow. That means the same amp can be used for loud stages, quieter rehearsals, direct recording, headphone practice, or late-night playing. For direct use, the built-in analog cab sim offers selectable 2x12 and 4x12 voicings. The dedicated LINE OUT has its own level control for mixers, audio interfaces, or front-of-house systems, while the balanced DI OUT gives you another direct path for recording or live feeds.
Built Around the Rig You Already Use The RPA 100 connects directly between amp and cab using standard speaker connections, with clearly labelled inputs for 4, 8, and 16 ohm outputs. Parallel speaker outputs allow routing to two cabs, while dummy load operation makes silent use possible when a speaker is not part of the setup. For practice, the AUX IN lets you bring in an external audio source, and the headphone output has its own level control. That makes it possible to play along with audio while keeping the amp experience intact, without needing to build a separate practice rig.

More Amp, More Places The point of the RPA 100 is simple: use the tube amp you already love in more situations. Turn the amp up for feel and response, then set the speaker level for the room, the session, or the gig. For recording and live work, the direct outputs and cab simulation make it easier to capture or send the amp signal without relying only on a loud cabinet in the room.
The RockBoard RPA 100 Power Attenuator gives tube amp players practical control over volume, direct connectivity, silent practice, and cab options in one compact box. It is not about replacing the amp. It is about getting more out of it in a usable manner.
