ENDGAME - Duality Calibrator

MOAI MAEA is KMA Machines’ homage to the powerful analog octaver tones of yesteryear. The pedal generates one higher octave and up to two sub-octaves, helping you create massive walls of synthy sound from a single note.

The MOAI MAEA’s upper octave section has an edgy and fuzzy character which is reminiscent of the iconic late ‘60s early ‘70s octave-up tones, as used by legends like Hendrix or The Stooges.
The sub-octave section turns your guitar into a filthy sub bass with ground shaking lows. Choose between either the first (-I), the second (-II) or both sub-octaves together (-I/-II), for an absolutely bone-breakingly heavy subsonic attack.

Unterschätze niemals den Wert von hochwertigem Artwork – das hat KMA Audio Machines verstanden und versehen ihre Pedale regelmäßig mit John Baizley- und Skinner-inspirierten Kunstwerken. Das Auge spielt mit und das KMA Audio Machines Logan ist mit seinem dunkelgrünen Hintergrund und dem wölfischen Schamanen darauf keine Ausnahme. Das Verzerrer-Pedal soll vor allem mit zwei Aspekten punkten: die Reaktivität des Gains bei der Anschlagsdynamik und dem damit verbundene Headroom, der einen offenen, saturierten Sound gewährleisten soll. Bis zu 25 dB soll das Logan durch das Headroom-Design draufpacken können, womit das gute Stück in Preamp-Gefilde vorstößt. Es ist kein rückkopplungsfreudiges High-Gain-Pedal, sondern ein Tone-Shaper und Boost, der sich darauf konzentriert, Mitten und Bässe hervorzuheben. Treble und Bass verstärken den Sound um bis zu 15 dB, eignen sich also hervorragend dazu, bei einem größeren Cabinet ein ordentliches Fundament zu liefern. Die eigentliche Stärke des Logan liegt in der Flexibilität der Mitten – doch dazu später mehr.

Mit dem KMA Chief Disruptor schafft es ein neues Fuzz-Distortion-Pedal ins Portfolio der Berliner Boutique-Pedalschmiede. Als Vorbild dient mit dem Big Muff ein echter Klassiker des Gewerbes. Aber KMA wäre nicht KMA, wenn man dem Chief Disruptor nicht auch noch jede Menge Goodies unter der Haube eingepflanzt hätte. Worum es sich dabei handelt, wie der KMA Fuzz/Distortion performt und was seine größten Talente sind, wird dieser Test zeigen.
