Poolside conversations while staring at your own reflection. The depths of which shall never be known, at least not for another couple thousand years. So it goes.

Before the reflection, is the experience. Before phenomena, or even noumena, is that which is undefinable. That which has never been heard, that which will never be heard again and that which has always been heard but never listened to.

K-field (Simulation mathematics), an  undefined, two-dimensional, non-linear field where past and future forces interact at irregular intervals. Shallow Water generates this k-field by randomly modulating a short time delay to create unexpected shifts in pitch. The result is this non cyclical vibrato/chorus/flanger-type thing favouring old tape flavours.

The water is shallow on this side of the pool. Do not dive and you will not drown.

Remote effects loop switcher expands existing pedalboard switching setups by providing four additional programmable loops without coloring or compromising the instrument signal. Featuring dual independent signal paths, the configuration flexibly alternates between four mono loops connected in series or two completely independent stereo loops. The fully passive, relay-based circuit functions with absolutely zero filtering, making it an excellent choice for preserving the sensitive input dynamics of vintage germanium fuzzes, treble boosters, or modern line-level equipment. Despite being half the size of the Life Pedal V3, HalfLife delivers the same massive, punchy sound that thrills Sunn O))) fans and heavy distortion enthusiasts worldwide.

HalfLife combines distortion, analog octave, and boost into a single, pedalboard-friendly enclosure. The "Amplitude" side is inspired by the classic "White Face" distortion design, enhanced by three selectable clipping options: "OpAmp" (no diode clipping for maximum, raw OpAmp attack), "Asymm" (two silicon diodes plus an LED for a slightly compressed, tube-amp-like crunch), and "Symm" (classic dual-silicon-diode clipping for that familiar Life Pedal sound).

The "Octave" section in HalfLife is a fully discrete analog full-wave rectifier circuit. The effect can be dynamically blended in via the Octave knob or an optional expression pedal - ideal for undulating swells or aggressive lead lines. For optimal results, the octave effect works best with single notes played above the 12th fret using the neck pickup; chords, on the other hand, produce a chaotic, resonant effect.

The signal path follows the order Octave > Distortion > Booster, with each section independently activatable via its own footswitch. Combining vintage tube amps with HalfLife yields a stunning sonic spectrum ranging from subtle crunch to massive, full-throttle walls of sound - perfect for the signature Sunn O))) tone à la *Life Metal*.

The Dispatch Master V3 is a delay and reverb pedal, whose effects can be used independently or simultaneously. It has 1.5 seconds of delay time and a dynamic reverb that goes from natural and roomy to cavernous and deep. It features controls for Time, Repeats, Reverb and Mix and it's true bypass. The V3 version features the new Flexi-Switch™ Technology, which allows you to simultaneously use momentary and latching-style switching. It's based on the silent relay-based soft touch switching! It works by pressing and holding the footswitch for as long as the effect it's been used, releasing it, and resuming for dry sound. Das EarthQuaker Devices Afterneath V3 klingt ein wenig so, wie es aussieht: Wie ein Sound-Zauberer, der eine riesige Höhle betritt und sich in die Ambient-Reverb-Schlacht wirft. Das Pedal bietet ein extrem breites Spektrum an unterschiedlichen, riesigen, ausladenden und magischen Ambient-Reverbs und deckt von wilden, verschlungenen Hall-Effekten über atmosphärische, kurze, digitale Delays bis zu Staccato-artigen, rhythmischen Wiederholungen mit bizarren Sounds alle denkbaren Effekte ab. Die Regelmöglichkeiten für Length (Länge des Nachhalls), Dampen (Tone), Reflect (Depth, Regeneration) und Mix (Wet/Dry-Mix) sind bekannte Parameter bei Reverb-Pedalen und arbeiten sehr intuitiv. Der Diffuse-Regler kontrolliert die Streuung des Nachhalls und ermöglicht je nach Setting aggressivere Sounds, bei denen das Einsetzen der einzelnen Wiederholungen deutlicher hörbar oder weicher und verwaschener wird. Der Drag-Regler trennt die digitalen Delay-Gruppen voneinander. So rücken den Repeats je nach Setting näher aneinander (Hall-ähnlicher Effekt) oder werden auseinander gezogen, sodass statt eines Halls verstreute Ping-Pong-Effekte zu hören sind.

The EarthQuaker Devices Afterneath V3 sounds a lot like it looks: a sound wizard bursting forth from ethereal cave and ready for the ambient reverb battle. The pedal offers an extremely wide range of different, vast, expansive, and magical ambient reverbs and covers all possible effects from wild and cavernous reverb effects to atmospheric reverberations of short digital delays to scattered, rhythmic delays with bizarre characteristics. The controls for Length (decay length of the reverb), Dampen (tone), Reflect (depth, regeneration) and Mix (wet/dry mix) are well-known parameters for reverb pedals and work very intuitively. The Diffuse knob adjusts the spread of the reverb, turned counterclockwise, the reverb is sharper with more attack, resulting in a stuttering sputter of individual early reflections. Clockwise casts a washy, more ambient-sounding effect. Drag separates the individual digital delay lines, clockwise positions will gather the delay lines close together for a more reverb-like effect. Turn the Drag counterclockwise, and the delay lines will begin to pull apart for a scattered ping-pong delay effect.

Das EarthQuaker Devices Hizumitas wurde speziell für die einzigartige Wata von der legendären Experimental-Band Boris entwickelt, eine der härtesten Bands, die jemals aus Japan hervorgegangen sind. Das Hizumitas ist eine originalgetreue Nachbildung von Watas Distortion Pedal Elk BM Sustainar. Das Elk Sustainar ist eine japanische Variante des bekannteren Triangle BMP. Während der Entwicklung analysierten die Designer von EQD mehrere Vintage-Exemplare des BMP sowie verschiedene Versionen des Elk und stellten schnell fest, dass all diese Pedale sich recht deutlich voneinander unterschieden. Um klanglich den sprichwörtlichen Geist in der Flasche einzufangen, gab es nur eine Möglichkeit: Sie mussten Watas Originalpedal in die Finger kriegen. Glücklicherweise war sie so großzügig, ihr geliebtes Pedal um die halbe Welt zu schicken und EQD entdeckte, dass es etwas Besonderes hatte, das die anderen nicht hatten: eine besonders heftige Sättigung, eine ordentliche "Schippe Dreck" und einen massiven Bassbereich. Und dennoch lieferte dieses Pedal ein klares, dynamisches Klangbild mit genug Mitten und Höhen, um sich bei Boris durchzusetzen. Das Ziel war klar: EarthQuaker Devices wollten mit dem Hizumitas all diese Eigenschaften unverfälscht nachbilden! Das Hizumitas sorgt für heftigste Verzerrung und sanftes Sustain. Darunter liegt ein düsterer, körniger Grit, der so klingt, als ob die angeschlossenen Boxen gleich platzen müssten. Dennoch bleiben eine erstaunliche Klarheit und ein aufgeräumtes Klangbild, das man bei einem derart aggressiven Effekt nicht erwarten würde. Der Sustain-Regler hat einen großen Sättigungsbereich, selbst kleine Änderungen haben einen großen Einfluss auf den Gesamtklang. Das Hizumitas reagiert sehr sensibel auf verschiedene Pickup-Typen und Spieltechniken. Power Chords klingen dramatisch und wuchtig, während offene Akkorde dynamisch und mit fantastischer Notentrennung rüberkommen. Und Single Note Leads klingen vor allem am Hals-Pickup strahlend und kraftvoll. Der Tone-Regler ist für diese Art von Distortion untypisch und kann in Verbindung mit der Sustain-Einstellung den Charakter der Verzerrung drastisch verändern. Dreht man den Regler mit dem Uhrzeigersinn werden die Bässe angehoben, dreht man den Regler gegen den Uhrzeigersinn werden die Höhen betont. Der Tone-Regler kann von einer aggressiven Mid-Range bis zu durchdringenden Höhen gehen, wenn man ihn gegen den Uhrzeigersinn dreht. Wenn man ihn im Uhrzeigersinn dreht, werden die Mitten weniger präsent, die Höhen werden gezähmt und ein gewaltiges, donnerndes Low-End kommt in den Vordergrund. Der Volume-Regler bietet massiven Output Gain - die Unity-Gain-Einstellung liegt etwa bei der 9- / 10-Uhr-Position des Volume-Reglers. Bei jeder höheren Einstellung geht der Signalpegel durch die Decke.

The EarthQuaker Devices Hizumitas was designed for the one and only Wata from the legendary experimental band Boris, one of the heaviest bands ever to come out of Japan. Hizumitas is a faithful recreation of Wata's go-to distortion pedal, the Elk BM Sustainar. The Elk is a Japanese variant of the very well-known Triangle BMP. The designers at EQD tried several vintage BMP's during development, found that each pedal was wildly different and realized that to truly capture the magic they needed the original. Wata graciously sent her beloved pedal halfway around the world, and EQD discovered that it had something special the others didn't have: heavy saturation with a gritty edge and massive bottom while maintaining a clear and dynamic tone with enough mids and top end to cut through any sludge. The studious wizards at EQD have built all of those characteristics into the Hizumitas! The pedal brings loads of heavy distortion and smooth sustain and an underlying grit that sounds like the speakers are on the verge of ripping apart while delivering amazing and unexpected clarity from such an aggressive sounding pedal. The Sustain control has a wide range of saturation, meaning even small changes will significantly affect the overall tone. Hizumitas responds excellently to all types of pickups and playing dynamics. Your power chords will sound huge and heavy, while open chords will be dynamic with fantastic note separation, and single note leads will come across smooth and powerful, especially with the neck pickup. The Tone control is atypical for this type of distortion and can drastically change the distortion's character in conjunction with the Sustain setting. Bass frequencies are boosted clockwise, and treble frequencies are boosted counterclockwise. The tone control can go from an aggressive mid-range grind to piercing highs as you turn it counterclockwise. As you turn it clockwise, the mids become less present, the highs are tamed, and a humongous, thundering low end comes to the forefront. The Volume control offers massive output gain with unity at around 9-10 o'clock and beyond that, prepare to hear and feel the power of Hizumitas!
