The exterior physical design (and our shared affinity for noise rock) informed the intent of the circuitry within: a versatile signal boost/overdrive with the potential for a razor-sharp treble response and excessively high output levels. The circuit itself is comprised of a discrete op amp gain stage with a treble boost in front, forming a densely textured upper midrange character laden with higher order intermodulation products. A mix of active and passive tone controls allows for dramatic alterations in sonic character. We also took extreme measures to engineer a high-quality power supply that is fully protected from excessive voltage, improper setup, and external interference.

0xEAE Boost

Dieses Pedal kombiniert zwei Module: den Halberd Overdrive und den Germanium Boost. Der Halberd liefert transistor-geprägten Overdrive mit Gewicht und Klarheit; der Germanium Boost arbeitet mit einer automatischen Bias-Schaltung und hebt selbst einfachere Transistoren in eine farbenreiche Gain-Stufe. Beide Sektionen sind separat schaltbar. Standardmäßig speist der Boost in den Halberd, aber separate Ein-/Ausgänge erlauben freie Verkabelung – seriell, mit Pedalen dazwischen, oder parallel.

This pedal is a 2-in-1 combo featuring the Halberd overdrive alongside a Germanium Boost. The Halberd delivers transistor-flavored overdrive with weight and clarity; the Germanium Boost uses an automatic biasing circuit to elevate even low-grade transistors into a lively gain stage. Both sides are individually foot-switchable. By default the Boost feeds the Halberd, but you can use separate inputs/outputs and route in series, swap order, or even run in parallel.

Mirror House erzeugt zwei tonhöhenverschobene Kopien eines eingehenden Signals, die sich in gleich großen, aber entgegengesetzten Intervallen vom Original entfernen. (Es kann auch ein Chorus sein.) Die beiden Stimmen lassen sich sowohl statisch als auch dynamisch verstimmen, mit verschiedenen Bereichen und Verhaltensweisen. Hüllkurvengesteuertes Pitch-Shifting erzeugt dynamisches Vibrato, Glissando und Dive-Bomb-Effekte, wenn sich die Stimmen trennen und wieder zusammenfinden. Im Flutter-Modus steuert Animate einen zufälligen LFO für einen geschmackvoll schrägen Chorus- und Vibrato-Sound. 

Mirror House creates two pitch-shifted copies of an incoming signal which veer off into equal and opposite directions. This diametric approach to pitch shifting is capable of weird detuning, disorienting microtonal clusters, chords of parallel harmony, or ugly, strange dissonance. (It can also be a chorus.)

The two pitch voices can be shifted both statically and dynamically, with a selection of ranges and behaviors. Envelope controlled pitch-shifting creates dynamic vibrato, glissando, and divebomb effects as the voices are pulled apart and come back together. In Flutter mode, Animate controls a random LFO, for a tastefully off-kilter chorus and vibrato. Detune and Flutter modes each have a static range of a semitone, while Shift mode is quantized up to an octave in both directions. Depending on your harmonic tendencies, this particular array of features is perhaps an invitation, perhaps a provocation.

This pedal was originally developed in collaboration with our friends in the band Pile, and as of Version 2 is now available as a steady offering in our product catalog. This new version features the new Flutter mode, improved envelope sensitivity, and a reduced noise floor compared to Version 1.

Der Electronic Audio Experiments Longsword ist ein weiterer Anwärter im endlosen Universum der op-amp-basierten Overdrive-Pedale – vertraut, aber mit einigen neuen Wendungen. Kaskadierte Gain-Stufen ermöglichen alles von cleanem Boost bis hin zu massivem Distortion, ohne dabei die klangliche Flexibilität zu opfern. Der Equalizer kombiniert Bass- und Höhen-Shelving-Filter mit einer aktiven, frequenzselektiven Mittenanhebung/-absenkung. Dies erlaubt es dem Nutzer, eine vielfältige Palette an Sounds zu formen und sich selbst in den dichtesten Mixes durchzusetzen. Der Longsword hat eine breite Frequenzwiedergabe, wodurch er gleichermaßen für Gitarre, Bariton und Bass geeignet ist.

The Electronic Audio Experiments Longsword is yet another contender in the endless void of op-amp based drive pedals—familiar but with some novel twists. Cascaded gain stages allow for the full range from clean boost to massive distortion, all without sacrificing tonal flexibility. The equalizer combines bass and treble shelving filters with an active, frequency-selectable midrange boost/cut control. This lets the user sculpt a diverse array of tones and carve out a niche in even the most dense of mixes. The Longsword has a broad frequency response which makes it work equally well with guitar, baritone, and bass.

Longsword

The Model feT is a transistor-based preamplifier designed around the legendary Sunn Model T amplifier. Those who have played the original know that while it excels at heavy tones when pushed, it is far more than just an amp for stoner rock and doom metal. In fact, on its own it is a fantastic mid-gain amplifier with a tone that is dark, yet clear and present—making it an exceptional pedal platform.
