Als wir 2011 unseren ursprünglichen Compressor veröffentlichten, wurde er schnell zu einem Favoriten unter Gitarristen und Bassisten, die mehr suchten als die typischen stark vereinfachten Regler, die man bei den meisten Kompressor-Pedalen findet. Basierend auf dem wertvollen Feedback unserer Nutzer haben wir nun alles Großartige an unserem ursprünglichen Compressor genommen und ihn noch besser gemacht.

Neben der vollständigen Palette an Funktionen und Reglern, die normalerweise nur in High-End-Studiogeräten zu finden sind, wie Eingangs- und Gain-Reduktions-Metering, unabhängige Attack- und Release-Regler, einen Mix-Regler für Parallel-Kompression und einen externen Sidechain-Insert, haben wir nun eine „Tilt"-Tone-EQ-Steuerung hinzugefügt sowie einen wählbaren Sidechain-Hochpassfilter, der in die Detektionsschaltung des Compressors integriert ist. Und oh ja, das gesamte Paket ist jetzt halb so groß und in zwei schicken Farben erhältlich!

When we released our original Compressor back in 2011, it quickly became a favourite among guitar and bass players alike who were searching for something more than the typical oversimplified controls found on most compressor pedals. Now, based on our users’ valuable feedback, we’ve taken everything great about our original Compressor and made it even better. 

On top of the full range of features and controls normally only seen in high end studio equipment, such as input and gain reduction metering, independent attack and release controls, a mix knob for parallel compression, and an external sidechain insert, we’ve now added a ‘tilt’ tone eq control, and a selectable sidechain high pass filter built into the Compressor’s detection circuit. Oh, and the whole package is now half the size and available in two snazzy colours!

If you want to reverse the function of the heel-down and toe-down positions, the DVP4 has another internal switch that allows you to do so.

Das JHS Pedals The Wanderer vereint zwei der beliebtesten Overdrive-Schaltungen von JHS in einem kompakten Gehäuse: den Morning Glory V4, inspiriert vom klassischen Marshall® Bluesbreaker, und den NOTAKLÖN, eine Interpretation des legendären Klon Overdrives. Die Kombination bietet ein breites Spektrum von transparenten, dynamischen Overdrive-Sounds über druckvolle Rhythmusklänge bis hin zu durchsetzungsfähigen Lead-Sounds. Dank der vielseitigen Gain-Regelung und der Möglichkeit, beide Schaltungen miteinander zu kombinieren, lässt sich der Klangcharakter flexibel an unterschiedliche Gitarren, Verstärker und musikalische Anforderungen anpassen.

Eine Besonderheit des Wanderer ist das durchdachte Routing-Konzept, das weit über die Möglichkeiten herkömmlicher Dual Overdrive Pedale hinausgeht. Über die zentralen Ein- und Ausgangsbuchsen lässt sich das Pedal klassisch als kombinierte Effektlösung betreiben, wobei die Reihenfolge der beiden Schaltungen per Kippschalter gewählt werden kann. Alternativ ermöglichen separate Ein- und Ausgänge für beide Effektsektionen eine vollständig unabhängige Signalführung. So lassen sich beispielsweise ein Kompressor, ein Fuzz oder weitere Effekte zwischen Morning Glory und NOTAKLÖN einschleifen. Auch die Einbindung beider Schaltungen in separate Loops eines Effekt Loop Switchers ist möglich.

Zusätzliche klangliche Flexibilität bieten die schaltbaren Gain-Modi beider Sektionen. Beim Morning Glory aktiviert der Gain Schalter eine zusätzliche Gain-Stufe, die neben mehr Verzerrung auch einen leichten Lautstärkeanstieg und einen volleren Klang erzeugt. Der NOTAKLÖN verfügt über die zuschaltbare Shamrock-Modifikation, die den Gain um 4 dB anhebt, die Mitten betont und eine zusätzliche Hard-Clipping-Stufe aktiviert. Im Originalmodus bleibt die charakteristische Klon-Voicings erhalten. Beide Schaltfunktionen lassen sich über separate Red-Remote-Anschlüsse fernsteuern, wodurch vier unterschiedliche Grundsounds direkt per Fußschalter abrufbar sind - ohne die Regler verändern zu müssen. In Verbindung mit der frei wählbaren Reihenfolge und dem Stacken beider Overdrives eröffnen sich zahlreiche Möglichkeiten für Rhythmus- und Lead-Sounds.

Die Bedienelemente sind übersichtlich auf beide Effektsektionen verteilt. Der NOTAKLÖN bietet Regler für Volume, Gain und Treble, während beim Morning Glory Volume, Drive und Tone zur Verfügung stehen. Ein zusätzlicher Bright-Cut Schalter am Morning Glory reduziert bei Bedarf die höchsten Frequenzen und ermöglicht so eine Anpassung an besonders höhenreiche Setups. Bei vollständig zurückgedrehtem Gain arbeitet der NOTAKLÖN zudem als Clean Boost mit bis zu 16 dB Pegelanhebung und eignet sich damit auch zum gezielten Ansteuern eines bereits leicht übersteuerten Verstärkers.

Abgerundet wird die Ausstattung durch geräuschloses Soft-Touch Schalter und einen gepufferten Bypass. Das JHS Pedals The Wanderer ist damit eine vielseitige Overdrive-Zentrale für Gitarristen, die zwei charakterstarke Schaltungen in einem platzsparenden Format nutzen und zugleich maximale Freiheit bei der Integration in ihr bestehendes Effekt-Setup behalten möchten.

The JHS Pedals "The Wanderer" combines two of JHS's most popular overdrive circuits in a single compact housing: the Morning Glory V4 - inspired by the classic Marshall® Bluesbreaker - and the NOTAKLÖN, an interpretation of the legendary Klon overdrive. This combination offers a wide spectrum of tones, ranging from transparent, dynamic overdrive and punchy rhythm sounds to assertive lead tones. Thanks to versatile gain controls and the ability to stack both circuits, the tonal character can be flexibly adapted to suit various guitars, amplifiers, and musical requirements.

A distinctive feature of the Wanderer is its sophisticated routing concept, which goes far beyond the capabilities of conventional dual overdrive pedals. Using the central input and output jacks, the pedal can be operated in the traditional manner as a combined effect unit, with the signal order of the two circuits selectable via a toggle switch. Alternatively, separate inputs and outputs for both effect sections allow for completely independent signal routing. This makes it possible, for example, to insert a compressor, fuzz, or other effects between the Morning Glory and the NOTAKLÖN. Integrating both circuits into separate loops of an effect loop switcher is also an option.

Switchable gain modes for both sections offer additional tonal flexibility. On the Morning Glory, the gain switch engages an extra gain stage that produces not only more distortion but also a slight volume boost and a fuller sound. The NOTAKLÖN features a switchable "Shamrock" modification that boosts gain by 4 dB, emphasizes the mids, and activates an additional hard-clipping stage, while the original mode preserves the characteristic Klon voicing. Both switching functions can be controlled remotely via separate Red Remote jacks, allowing four distinct base tones to be accessed directly via footswitch—without needing to adjust the controls. Combined with the ability to choose the signal order and stack both overdrives, this opens up a wide range of possibilities for rhythm and lead tones.

The controls are clearly laid out across both effect sections. The NOTAKLÖN features controls for Volume, Gain, and Treble, while the Morning Glory offers Volume, Drive, and Tone. An additional Bright-Cut switch on the Morning Glory reduces the highest frequencies when needed, allowing for adjustment to setups that are particularly bright. With the gain turned all the way down, the NOTAKLÖN also functions as a clean boost providing up to 16 dB of level increase, making it suitable for driving an amplifier that is already slightly overdriven.

The feature set is rounded out by silent soft-touch switching and a buffered bypass. This makes the JHS Pedals The Wanderer a versatile overdrive hub for guitarists who want to utilize two distinctive circuits in a space-saving format while maintaining maximum flexibility when integrating the pedal into their existing effects setup.

THE KILT 10 - Auf weltweit 5000 Stück limitierte Neuauflage des KILT. Nach zehn Jahren erhält der Kilt einen neuen Sound und ein neues Design. Ein aktualisierter Clipping-Bereich sorgt für mehr Headroom, einen weicheren Attack und einen reichhaltigeren, dynamischeren Drive-Bereich als je zuvor. 2015 brachte JHS gemeinsam mit Stu G (legendärer Gitarrist, Songwriter, Produzent und Gründungsmitglied der britischen Band Delirious?) das ultimative Distortion-Pedal auf den Markt. Stu wollte ein Pedal, das alle Anforderungen seiner Studioarbeit und seiner ausgedehnten Tourneen abdecken konnte. NEU FÜR 2025: Ein aktualisiertes Design: Die Oberfläche kehrt als Hommage an das ursprüngliche Kilt V1 zu poliertem Aluminium zurück und wird nun mit klassischen Knöpfen im Expandora-Stil kombiniert. Abgerundet wird das Ganze durch ein überarbeitetes Kilt-Symbol, das geschickt sowohl auf die schottische Flagge als auch auf die römische Ziffer „X“ für zehn Jahre anspielt. Verbesserte Klarheit im Hochtonbereich: JHS hat den Hochtonbereich verfeinert, damit sich das Pedal besser aus dem Mix heraushebt, was besonders bei Live-Auftritten von Bands auffällt, wo es auf jede noch so kleine Klarheit ankommt. Erhöhter Headroom: Mehr Ausgangsleistung sorgt für einen reaktionsfreudigeren Klang in Ihrem gesamten Rig und verleiht ihm mehr Dimension und Gefühl, egal ob Sie einen cleanen Verstärker spielen oder mit anderen Drives kombinieren. Verfeinerte Kippschalter: Die Gain-Kippschalter wurden für besser nutzbare Gain-Parameter optimiert, wobei das ursprüngliche Gefühl und die Einstellungen der Pedale beibehalten wurden. Der Low-Cut-Kippschalter ist jetzt wesentlich amp-freundlicher und funktioniert gut mit einer größeren Bandbreite an Verstärkern (einschließlich Amp-Modeler-Pedalen und Software). Refined Toggle Switches: The gain toggles have been tweaked for more usable gain parameters while keeping the pedals original feel and settings. The Low-Cut toggle is now far more amp-friendly, working well across a wider range of amplifiers (including amp modeler pedals and software). Diode Choice Enhancement: A new clipping circuit adds more touch-sensitive feel and nuance without departing from the pedal's core identity. It has slightly more compression, distortion on tap, and a smoother attack.
