The improved RockBoard® MODs V2 are simple all-in-one patchbays for RockBoard pedalboards with a new, refreshed design, and compact housing. The main pedalboard I use across bands and projects, with a consolidated yet versatile layout that makes sure to sound the best it can in every possible scenario I find myself in, with as little compromise as possible. No matter what the crazy jungle that is the underground Portuguese music scene throws at it, this board can handle anything from the scrappiest PA-less basement gig to a full scale show with no compromises.

For amp-less (and the sake of what's left of my back) and amped operation ("Wet/Dry/Wet esque" arrangement or simple amp only operation) with parallel synth signal and stereo capabilities.

In amp-less operation, the amp loop is patched on the MOD2 with a patch cable, with the ToneX pedal handling amp sim duties.

In amped operation, the MOD2 A/B jacks are patched with the C jack going to the amp input, or in 4-cable method the A jack goes into the amp input, fx loop send to B, and C to fx loop return. 

The MOD2 I/O are as follows:
A/B - Amp insert send and return
C - Unbalanced out
D - Pitch Shifter AUX out
MIDI I/O - Self explanatory

MIDI Chain:
MOD2 MIDI Input > ES5 > Plethora x3 > ToneX  > MOD2 MIDI Output

Guitar goes into the Polytune input, into the noise gate. The gate controls noise on the "pre amp" section of my pedalboard, meaning the ES5 and it's effects. The noise gate's send jack goes to ES5 input.

The ES5 Loops are as follows:
Loop 1: Vox v845 Wah
Loop 2: EHX Pitchfork +
Loop 3: EHX Op Amp Big muff
Loop 4: Danelectro Eisenhower Fuzz
Loop 5: EHX Good Vibes

ES5 Output goes to the noise gate's return, and it's output in turn goes to the inner MOD2 A jack, where A/B outer jacks serve as the amp insert loop. Inner B jack goes to the ToneX, which in turn goes to Plethora x3 as a stereo chain for "post amp" effects. From the Plethora, the stereo output pair goes into MOD2 C/D inner jacks.

The ES5 is essentially the brains of the whole rig. Pedals and amp are either managed through the ES5 Loops, via MIDI, or in the case of the Pitchfork+, through one of the CTL Outs. The other CTL Out serves as the PH3's tap tempo. Since I mute the guitar with the Polytune, the Mute footswitch in the ES5 becomes a general purpose footswitch for the ES5's CTRL Outs. The EHX Dual Expression pedal has 1 output connected to the PitchFork+ and the other connected to the ES5 Expression in, so it can control CC parameters on the MIDI pedals. The Tuner Out can be connected to an optional synth pedalboard in paralel with the main guitar rig.


The whole rig could also be programmed on a DAW session by connecting the MOD2 MIDI Input to an interface.

Mit dem JHS Pedals Summing Amp habst du die Möglichkeit, zwei Eingangssignale in einem Ausgangssignal zu mischen. Dies ist ideal, um Effekte parallel zu betreiben, so dass sie nicht voneinander beeinflusst werden. The Edge verwendete diese Technik beispielsweise in den 80er Jahren mit seinen Delays. The JHS Pedals Summing Amp gives you the ability to take two inputs and blend them into one output. This is perfect for putting effects in parallel so that they are not affected by one another. The Edge used this technique in the 80s with his delays. When you have a quarter note delay and a dotted eighth delay and you place them in parallel then sum them back together, the effect is that both delays come through more clearly and are not "delaying the delays". This can also be used with overdrives so that they are not pushing each other as in series, but sit atop one another in parallel. Another use is combining fuzz and compression in parallel so the fuzz isn't getting choked by the compression. The Summing Amp gives you the ability to use effects together in completely new ways that you may never have imagined and can open up new and inspiring sounds with your old effects.

Das Pitchfork von EHX ist neben dem Whammy und dem TC Electronic Sub ‚N‘ up das wahrscheinlich beliebteste Pitch-Pedal, das es auf den Pedal-Boards der Welt gibt. Von einem Bekannten, der sich ausgiebig mit dem Löten von Pedalen beschäftigt, habe ich mir sagen lassen, dass der Bau eines wirklich sauber arbeitenden und verlässlich trackenden Pitch-Pedals alles andere als leicht ist. Und das kann man sich gut vorstellen: Viele Pitch-Pedale tracken irgendwie seltsam, klingen entweder im Clean- oder Gain-Bereich jeweils zu matschig und undifferenziert oder können mit bestimmten Frequenzbereichen nicht gut arbeiten. Selbst das von mir hochgeschätzte Red Panda Tensor hat viele Stärken – die Klarheit des Pitch-Effekts ist es nicht.

Boosted power rails provide 21st century definition and headroom, and an expression pedal input allows free‑form control of either speed or intensity at your feet. In 1999, Danelectro debuted the original Spring King reverb, a pedal that proved to be monstrous in terms of tone and size. Fast-forward 25 years, the Spring King Junior is here to reclaim the throne. While this sibling's sounds are as big as ever, the size of the pedal is far more subtle. Just like the original, the Spring King Junior features a real spring tank to produce its authentic reverb sounds. Danelectro also crafted the Spring King Junior from die-cast casing for extra durability, though it also includes a soft footswitch for gentle activation. Lastly, Sweetwater guitarists have easily accommodated the Spring King Junior on their pedalboards because the Junior — while still able to produce some of the springiest 'verb sounds imaginable — is but a fraction of the size of the original pedal. From tubular surf rock licks to ambient clouds of shoegaze sound, the Danelectro Spring King Junior is the rightful heir to the reverb kingdom.
