Die Walrus Audio Julia ist ein komplett analoges Chorus/Vibrato-Pedal, das mit einigen Besonderheiten aufwarten kann. Obwohl es sich bei den beiden um alteingesessene Standard-Effektsounds handelt, versteht es der amerikanische Boutique-Hersteller, mit einigen Extras jenseits der Norm Interesse zu wecken.
So auch bei der Julia, bei der beispielsweise fließend mit einem Blend-Regler zwischen Chorus und Vibrato gewechselt werden kann. Dazu lässt ein Schalter die Wahl, den LFO zu Sinus- oder Dreieck-Wellenformen zu überreden. Was diese Funktionen klanglich bewirken, schauen wir uns im Folgenden an.

The Julia is a fully analog, feature-rich chorus/vibrato packed with a wide array of tonal landscapes begging to be explored. Updated for 2020, Julia now has top mounted jacks, soft switch bypassing and updated art from Adam Forster. 

Julia is able to produce mild smooth chorus, to seasick vibrato and everywhere in between. With controls like Lag, Dry-Chorus-Vibrato Blend, and selectable analog LFO wave shapes, you are able to dial in all types of classic and unique chorus/vibrato sounds; some settings giving a familiar feel while others are not found on traditional chorus pedals.

A special feature of the Julia is the Lag control. The Lag knob lets you set the center delay time that the LFO effect modulates from. From smooth and tight modulation at lower settings, to warbling detune at maximum, the Lag knob adds a new dimension to the traditional Chorus/Vibrato landscape.

The 280 is an optical compressor that can go from light sustain to utterly smashed with the turn of a knob. Unlike faster non-optical circuits the 280 retains your high frequencies until you get into the more extreme settings. The 280 is ideal for chicken-pickin’, added sustain for leads, or snappy-slappy funk rhythm. The 280 also has enough output to be used as a lead boost with added compressor sustain. And like all of the updated DOD pedal, it has a modern power jack, LED, light but strong aluminum chassis, and true bypass switching.

Anfang 1984 veröffentlichte BOSS zwei seltsame neue Geräte unter dem Namen "The Pocket Series". Eines dieser Geräte war der FA-1 FET Preamp, der schnell seinen rechtmäßigen Platz unter den Klanglegenden fand, als The Edge of U2 ihn bei der Aufnahme von "Unforgettable Fire" verwendete und ihn in seine nachfolgenden Touring-Rigs stellte. Der Clover Preamp / Boost ist eine JHS Interpretation des FA-1, jedoch mit einigen zusätzlichen Funktionen, die diese erstaunliche Schaltung noch besser machen. Du wirst bei deinen Gigs  nicht auf diesen glücklichen Tonformer verzichten wollen! Der Clover ist eine End-All-Preamp / Boost für akustische und E-Gitarren und Bässe. Der EQ ist einfach, kraftvoll und lässt keinen schlechten Klang zu. Während der Clover sich als Vorstufe / Boost für Dirt-Pedale auszeichnet, liegt sein Zauber darin, deinen Tube-Amp in den natürlichen Overdrive zu treiben. Mit dem EQ kannst du deinen persönlichen Sweet Spot einstellen, an dem dein Verstärker nachgibt. Schiebe deinen kleinen Low-Watt Amp in natürlichen Overdrive und Distortion oder finde Sounds in stärkeren Amps, die du noch nie gehört hast. Strat- und Tele-Spieler können mit dem Clover mehr Schlagkraft, Tiefe und Dynamik erreichen, wie sie mit Single Coil Pickups normalerweise nicht möglich sind, während Les Pauls und Humbucker Klarheit, Biss und Definition in Hülle und Fülle erlangen! In early 1984 BOSS released two strange new devices under the name "The Pocket Series". One of those devices was the FA-1 FET Preamp and it quickly found its rightful place among the legends of tone when The Edge of U2 used it on the recording of "Unforgettable Fire" as well as placing it in his following touring rigs. The Clover Preamp/Boost is JHS' faithful interpretation of the FA-1 but with several additional features that they believe make this amazing circuit even better. Der DOD FX80B Compressor Sustainer ist eine überarbeitete Version des ursprünglichen FX80 und wurde Mitte der 1980er Jahre vorgestellt. Er verfügt über drei Regler: Level, Compression und Release, mit denen Lautstärke, Kompressionsstärke und Ausklingzeit eingestellt werden können. Das Pedal sorgt für ein weiches und natürliches Sustain und erhält dabei den ursprünglichen Klang und die Dynamik des Instruments. Es liefert eine subtile Kompression, die sich gut für Rhythmus- oder Clean-Lead-Sounds eignet. Der FX80B gehört zur klassischen analogen Serie von DOD und wurde in den USA gefertigt.

The DOD FX80B Compressor Sustainer is an updated version of the original FX80 introduced in the mid 1980s. It features three controls: Level, Compression, and Release, allowing users to adjust output volume, compression strength, and release time. FX33 BUZZ BOX

The Chthonic Fuzz (pronounced: THAH-nik) creates fat, corpulent, fudgy, sludgy, fuzz tones designed to pair perfectly with single-coil, P90, gold-foil, and DeArmond style pickups. It also works great with PAF-style humbuckers, but this fuzz was designed with brighter guitars and bright, clean amps in mind.
