Wir nennen ihn unseren Preamp, weil er es ist! Die Schaltung basiert auf unserem Chimera 30-Watt-Gitarrenverstärker, ersetzt aber die Röhren durch FET-Transistoren. Das Ergebnis ist ein extrem verstärkerähnliches und vielseitiges Clean-Boost/Overdrive/Fuzz-Pedal, das deiner Signalkette reiche Obertöne und einen sehr musikalischen EQ verleiht... wirklich eine Chimera in einer Box!

We call this our Preamp because it is! The circuit is based on the our Chimera 30 watt guitar amplifier, but substitutes FET transistors for the vacuum tubes. The result is an extremely amp-like and versatile clean boost/overdrive/fuzz pedal that imparts rich harmonics and a very musical EQ to your signal chain…truly a Chimera in a box!

Like the Germanium Fuzz before it, the Stonk Box attempts to take a classic 1960’s fuzz design, and bring the sound into the modern world without bringing any along the flaws and inconsistencies of the original. In this case, we set our eyes on the MK1 fuzz (which is itself a modified version of the very first fuzz ever). We kept the original controls (FILTER and VOLUME), and added a TONE control and a TRIM control to expand the palette of sounds available. Buffer and pedal order friendly (but with no pickup simulation, we had to tweak the output circuit this time). The original circuit is considered one of the hardest of the classic fuzzes to get right because of the difficulty in transistor selection...with our patented technology we can do it easily and consistently...for the first time ever!

Stonk Box

This pedal is based on our now famous amp-in-a-box Preamp pedal with one important tweak: the replacement of the first FET transistor with a germanium gain stage - stolen from our servo-biased Germanium Boost pedal which is ideal as a versatile gain stage since it reliably imparts a germanium tonality, mostly doesn’t care about temperature, and doesn’t affect frequency response. The result is an alternate universe take on our flagship pedal that marries the incomparable feel of the germanium with the careful equalization and tone controls of the preamp pedal. 

The result is a slightly lower gain, but richer sounding and feeling overdrive/boost/fuzz/whatever we really, really dig. We hope you like it!

Das Germanium Fuzz ist ein Fuzz-Pedal. Die Regler verändern den Klang.
Dieses Pedal basiert auf zwei Germanium-Transistoren vom Typ 2N527 oder 2N404.  Sie wurden hinsichtlich Verstärkung und Leckstrom bewertet und sorgfältig aufeinander abgestimmt, um den bestmöglichen Klang zu erzielen.  Sie sind in der allgegenwärtigen kreisförmigen Fuzz-Topologie der 60er Jahre angeordnet, auf guten Klang abgestimmt und verfügen über einige zusätzliche Besonderheiten, die Probleme lösen sollen, die einer breiteren Verwendung von Germanium-Bauteilen im Wege stehen.

DAS ERSTE FUZZ-PEDAL MIT AUTOMATISCHER THERMISCHER BIAS-TECHNOLOGIE
Die Vorspannung der Transistoren in diesem Pedal wird automatisch durch eine Schaltung geregelt, die die Transistoren mithilfe analoger Komponenten sanft auf einen voreingestellten Betriebspunkt erwärmt und einen gleichbleibenden Klang unabhängig von der Außentemperatur gewährleistet. 

The Germanium Fuzz is a fuzz pedal.  The knobs change the sounds.
This pedal is designed around two germanium 2N527 OR 2N404 Germanium Transistors.  They have been graded for gain and leakage and carefully matched to sound their best.  They are set up in the ubiquitous 60’s circular fuzz topology, and tuned for good sound, and include some additional oddities aimed at solving the issues that prevent more widespread use of Germanium devices.

THE FIRST FUZZ PEDAL WITH AUTOMATIC THERMAL BIAS TECHNOLOGY
The bias of the transistors in this pedal is automatically regulated by a circuit that GENTLY warms the transistors to a preset operating point using analog components, and ensures a consistent sound, no matter the external temperature.

The Florist is the end result of Non-Human Audio and Benson Amps being so inspired by the possibilities of improving an existing pedal that we pushed the idea even further and create a whole new pedal in what we hope will be an expanding genre of pedals.

The Florist can add some subtle movement under your playing, it can be a chorus, it can be a modulated semi-reverb, it can almost flange, it can achieve weird space sounds, it can sound like a broken tape machine, it can do a lot of things.
